Food and Drink

There are plenty of opportunities in Ollerton and the surrounding area to sample local food. Visit a country dining pub, located in one of the tranquil villages, or stop for refreshments at one of the wide variety of cafes – some of which are located within the beautiful country parks, such as Rufford, Sherwood Pines and Vicar Water. If you’re on a budget – or in a rush – there is no shortage of takeaways: Ollerton has at least three fish and chip shops!

It is hardly surprising that in this predominantly rural area there are a number of excellent local food producers, such as Stichelton Dairy on the Welbeck Estate and Thaymar Icecream in Haughton. We also feature a selection of picnic sites around the area, many of which have wheelchair-accessible benches, so there is no excuse not to enjoy an alfresco lunch in the summer!
